Hello hello!

It's Friday- a reason for joy!

There was a power cut yesterday due to some cable maintainence, so the house was pitch dark. Joyee and I were hot, sweaty and bored. And what does one do? Head to cooler pastures of course!

We had some fried yee mee at Huang Di Noodles, then adjourned to Capri for dessert. Sibling sharing. Got to know about Miss Supremo M. And I told him how cuteness bores me, after enduring almost 4 weeks of finicky temperaments.

I paid the bill. But just as we were to exit, a small voice called out, "ye lao shi."

Aiyaiyai. It was a kid I taught at Salak South. To be precise she's dreamy and I always pick on her in class.

Shows that I have to be more vigilant.

I wrote a personal essay opening with "Life is a story of options, and to be given the chance to make a choice is a privilege".

The essay didn't make the cut, but I'm glad that it wasn't submitted, because as wise as it may sound, it's definitely not applicable in all circumstances.

Take for instance, NOW. Which university? Which country? So many roads to the same destination. I need a crystal ball.

Pure laziness. Researching on the myriad of courses, based on websites, pamphlets, the opinions of a family friend whose friend's son did so-and-so course in so-and-so university and is now working for so-and-so-big shot company after switching from so-and-so university...

I'm not even sure if I'm the adventurer or the well-trodden path type. When prestige and reputation go against the time and cost factor, which ones should triumph?

As I type, I realize that having a choice is indeed a privilege after all. The only thing that matters is whether we make the best of our decision.

I am my inspiration.

Met up with Fatty today. We were scheduled to meet at MPH, but when I got there I didn't see him, so I absent mindedly browsed Al Gore's An Inconvenient Truth. Just as I returned the book to the shelf and patience was running thin, I saw him. He was next to me! Blur dude couldn't feel the aura of Her Holiness Joleen either.

But there's nothing a Bean movie, popcorn and asam laksa sharing, as well as apple crumble cannot restore. Hehe, what else can I say? It was a Zip-A-Dee-Doo-Dah day!!! =D =D =D

We even found Malaysia's Next Top Model!

New layout!

Haha... Tinkered blindly with the HTML settings, used some brains, some aesthetic sense... Not bad at all. Maybe I have inert talent as a graphic designer. =P

Of course the most credit should be given to Gregory Colbert for his marvellous "Dive with Spermwhale" (www.ashesandsnow.org).

I don't know much about copyright issues, but thank you, thank you, thank you.

I'm so excited!!!

Trains are potential venues for bloodsheath. And I'm not talking about WMDs or terrorists.

I'm talking about slimy, obnoxious, old men who think the world owes them everything.

Unfortunately enough, I happened to meet one of these despicable species today on the Putra line.

I was taking the LRT from Masjid Jamek to KLCC, when the train stopped at Dang Wangi to pick up passengers. The train was bursting at its welds, people were standing nose to armpit etc. And the smelly, disgusting Malay man (henceforth referred to as SDMm) had to squeeze and push me.

Anyone who has taken basic Physics would know that according to Newton's third law, a shove begets a shove. I'm small, but in cases like this, my strength increases 10 fold.

Me: (shoves) EXCUSE ME!!!
SDMm: What? Why did you push me?
Me: You pushed me first.
SDMm: Get out of the train la!
Me: I was here first.
SDMm: You are not civic minded.
Me: If you are, you could tell me to move, but as you can see, there is no more space.
SDMm: Civic minded bla bla bla... BASTARD.
Me: That's you.

What the hell? The stupid SDMm! Hope you suffer in hell for eternity!

Clearly, being a SDMm, he has no intellect and basic decency whatsoever because:

1 He pushed against me.
2 I am a girl. More personal space is my right.
3 He had the guts to argue with me.
4 He dared use vulgar language against me. I could sue his pants, underwear and foreskin off.

Anyway, enough of feeling angry. Most of Malaysia is still civilised. At least according to Tung who came to KL for a few days. =)

So we had sushi in KLCC. Funny Viet can't take spicy food. Food wasn't worth raving about, but the company was... A lot of gossip, a lot of sarcasm and good old fun.

Visit KL again! I'll be a proper tour guide next time round.

To my lovely brother,

Happy Birthday!

I've even changed my fonts specially for wacky Joyeejamoee... May you continue to be a great McD companion and a brave mission volunteer. Heheh...

Lots of love from your neighbour- you know where to find me. =P
